Celebrating 50 Years of Stewardship in 2026

Northwest Wilderness Programs was established in 1976 in response to Goldmyer Hot Springs and the surrounding environment experiencing significant damage from years of unmanaged access.

50 years later, the mission to preserve the springs for the use of generations to come continues. Minimum impact polices established in the late 70's have provided the surrounding environment an opportunity to catch its breath and make significant progress recovering from years of misuse.

We sincerely thank the many dedicated volunteers and staff who have contributed to making Goldmyer Hot Springs the special place it is today. Our collective efforts have crafted a sustainable balance between preservation and public access. The springs and surrounding old growth forest continue to be a unique setting to connect with nature and foster community.

Low visitation fees keep the hot springs relatively accessible. However, operating expenses to properly manage and maintain the springs continue to increase with time. All donations to Northwest Wilderness Programs support the continued stewardship of Goldmyer Hot Springs.
